Excellent medical thriller! The pacing is spot on, not a dull moment in the entire book. Terrific characters and writing. I loved the mixture of the thriller genre with the hospital setting. I learned a lot of really interesting medical jargon/procedures in addition to being entertained. Would highly recommend!

Call Game was really hard to put down. I’ve worked in the Emergency Room for over 20 years, and I still found myself picking it up even after a 12-hour shift! A colleague recommended it to me, and I’m so glad they did. It’s so refreshing to read something written by two medical professionals who really understand the world of overnight hospital life. The details felt so real, and the characters were so well developed. I give Call Game a solid 5 star review.

I read Call Game cover to cover in one day—I couldn’t put it down! Set in a remote hospital in Northern Michigan during a Thanksgiving blizzard, this story unfolds through the perspectives of different patients and doctors. The shifting viewpoints build tension and suspense, making you suspicious of everyone and their possible motives…

Call Game had me up late more than once, telling myself “just one more chapter” again and again. Cody and Elder capture the madness of a hospital night shift—ratcheting up the suspense with strange characters and unsettling goings-on. Lead characters (and primary narrators) Rylan Frasier and Paul Bennet pull readers into the narrative from the start; you’ll root for them both as a couple and as unlikely detectives. In the end, the novel delivers the best kind of twists: the ones you don’t see coming but make perfect sense once revealed. The authors’ deep domain knowledge shines through, with hospital and medical details woven in naturally, giving the story authenticity while raising all the right questions for the reader. A terrific read for anyone who has ever worked in a hospital… or anyone who simply loves a gripping thriller with a beating heart.

What a great read! This is my first foray into a medical thriller and it did not disappoint. Rylan is an orthopedic resident who is on call during a bad storm on Thanksgiving. Due to the weather and holiday there is only a skeleton crew available to handle all of the emergencies going on. To make matters worse there are several suspicious deaths of patients that evening – Rylans patients! Is it a case of bad luck or is there something more sinister going on? The story was fast moving and intense and I found the characters to be engaging and well portrayed. Definitely recommend!

This medical thriller delivers on every front, from the claustrophobic atmosphere of a snowbound hospital to the realistic medical emergencies. Rylan Fraser makes for a compelling protagonist, balancing her surgical expertise with growing paranoia as patients begin dying around her. The authors excel at misdirection, making readers question every character’s motive while building romantic tension between Rylan and the handsome psychiatrist Dr. Bennett.
I’m the one who figures out the mystery during the opening credits of the movie, and the twist at the end of this one is genuinely shocking. Elder and Cody did the thing here, and now I’ll read all their books.

Call game was a great read. Fast paced, fun, exciting and suspenseful. The writing reflected the real conflicts and stresses that can happen in a hospital, turned into a suspense. The characters were all possible threats and the reveal was kept to the end. I have known many people like the characters in the book and my favourite was Dr English, the anesthesiologist! If you want a fast page turner get call game!

Rylan is in the final year of her orthopedic training and covering the hospital on Thanksgiving, when her patients start mysteriously dying. Isolated by a winter storm, she must work with a psychiatrist to stop the killer before she becomes the next victim. This is an exceptional debut novel full of intrigue, surprising twists, and medical stories portraying the drama found every day in the hospital!

This was an intense edge of your seat medical thrill ride from start to finish. The chaos and suspense in the hospital build to a very satisfying and unexpected climax. Rylan and Paul were extremely sympathetic and realistic characters. Six stars!
